Rotary Club of Farnham Weyside

Rotary Club of Farnham Weyside

The club comprises around 45 men and women who meet once a week. Meetings are convivial and usually consist of a talk, preceded by dinner. The club participates in a number of projects in the local community and also raises funds to help good causes in this country and internationally. The social side of club life involves visits to places of interest and regular meetings with partners and friends. Other annual events include a golf day, a wine tasting evening, film night, cheese tasting evening and quizzes.

Farnham Weyside visits Step by Step

The President of Farnham Weyside Rotary Club, Lynda Pattie, has named Step by Step, the Aldershot-based charity that works with homeless and disadvantaged young people, as her chosen charity for 2011/12. Members recently paid a visit to the premises of Step by Step. The facilities available for the homeless young people are remarkable. As well as comfortable and smart living quarters, enlivened by some superb artwork from local colleges, the Step by Step charity provides extensive courses in training and support to help them develop their self esteem and adapt to living independently in society. Over three out of four of them make real progress – a remarkable achievement! At the end of the evening Lynda presented Annette Althen and Leanne Grub with cheques totalling £750.

The club meets most Tuesday evenings at The Bush Hotel, The Borough, Farnham, GU9 7NN.
