The Farnham Duck Race
Each year, the cascading white-water torrent of the River Wey in Farnham's town centre is watched by vast crowds of people who have made a pilgrimage to experience the thrills and spills of several hundred numbered plastic ducks racing each other down the river. This spectacle, which is one of Farnham's great attarctions, gives a great deal of pleasure to all involved, and raises significant funds for the Club's charities.

The 2009 Duck-Race will be held on Saturday, 9th May. It will also boast many sideshows and features live music and other attractions that make a visit to the town a must for the cognoscenti, some of whom have been known to fly in from the other side of the world. This negative contribution to the reduction of carbon emissions is more than compensated for by the use of water power for the race, in which no fossil fuels are consumed and there is no risk of broken limbs to horses or people, surely unique amongst sporting events? Furthermore, it is safe for children, as the racing participants never spit or use bad language.

Tickets for the event are on sale up to three months in advance, but to deprive the ticket touts/scalpers of their scandalous business, make sure you purchase your tickets from a Club Member.

Don't miss out on the opportunity to win a big prize!
