President John Lewis welcomes new member, Sergio Guilherme
The members of Farnham Weyside Rotary Club were very pleased to welcome their latest member at a meeting recently. Sergio Guilherme was inspired to join after the spport his local Rotary Club gave him when he was a teenager in his home town. Sergio is a vet in the Farnham area and has a young family living in Farnham. Inducting him into the Club, President John Lewis said “We are delighted to welcome Sergio to the Club and look forward to working with him in many activities carried out by the Club, such as the Farnham Duck Race at the end of April, the Festival of Transport in early June and the Pilgrim Marathon in September. Sergio commented that he had known for many years that he wanted to put back many of the things that Rotary gave him, and he looked forward to joining in all the Club’s fundraising and community service activities in the Farnham area.
Farnham Weyside Rotary Club is always keen to welcome local women and men of all ages to support their activities locally and internationally and experience fun and friendship while doing that. The Club supports many local organisations, such as the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, Woodlarks Cetre, Challengers, the Farnham Foodbank. It has raised money to help the people in Ukraine and those affected by the 2023 earthquake in Mrocco and it is a leader to eliminate polio from the world, where it is still endemic in three countries.
